The 1916 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team represented the Georgia Tech Golden Tornado of the Georgia Institute of Technology during the 1916 college football season. Georgia Tech was a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The Tornado was coached by John Heisman in his 13th year as head coach, compiling a record of 8–0–1 (5–0 SIAA) and outscoring opponents 421 to 20. One writer claimed the 1916 team "seemed to personify Heisman." Georgia Tech played its home games at Grant Field. Its only road game was at Georgia. The season featured the 222 to 0 defeat of Cumberland, the largest margin of victory in football history. Center Pup Phillips was selected for Walter Camp's third-team All-America. Tackle Walker Carpenter, guard Bob Lang, fullback Tommy Spence, and halfback Everett Strupper were selected All-Southern along with Phillips. Strupper was third in the nation in scoring, including 16 touchdowns. ==Schedule==
